A flyfishing blog with a novice past middle age fisherman. Will try to put my experiences, good or bad, in a journal type form. Any and all comments are appreciated.

I tried to post this yesterday, Saturday, but I deleted it accidentally and didn't repost. Anyhow, I spent 3 hours or so on the Caney Friday and did ok. I caught a total of 8, all rainbows. Three were over 12 inches and were fat. I used a variety of flies including, but not limited to olive wooly buggers, BH Pheasant Tail, various midges, scuds and sowbugs. In one twenty yard stretch, I lost 4 fish in a row. I checked my scud and realized that I had too much body that had the hook almost covered. After changing to another, I caught 2 of those again. Hopefully, the generation schedule will be more condusive to fishing over the next two weeks. Until next time, Pappy

I'd settle for 8 any day and call it great.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments. I'm hoping to fish and post more often. Mostly at the Caney
DeleteHey, Pappy, I am agreeing with Mark, here. Sounds like a fine Three hours to me with the fishing and just being outdoors. Good job on pattern choices!
